Bowen Therapy is a holistic approach to pain relief and healing developed in Geelong by Tom Bowen.
Bowen can help with:
- Sports Injuries
- Stress and Tension Symptoms
- Back pain and Sciatica
- RSI and Tennis Elbow
- Neck and Shoulder problems
- Knee and Ankle problems
- Respiratory conditions
- Migraines and Headaches.
Bowen therapy is based on the belief that the underlying cause of many musculoskeletal, neurological and neuromuscular and related health problems can be found in soft tissue or fascia, the specific type of connective tissue surrounding every organ in the body. Fascia ‘organises’ the body, embracing all nerves, bones, veins, arteries and muscles –so any problem with the fascia can affect every other structure in the body including muscles, nerves and organs.
Using Bowen Therapy
Bowen therapy stimulates specific receptors through integration techniques and releasing specific soft tissue or fascia to correct problems and restore balance. Bowen therapy has been shown to provide permanent healing and pain relief. As a holistic treatment, it does not rely on a detailed diagnosis of the problem but treats the whole body, thus stimulating the body to heal itself.
As Bowen is such a gentle treatment, it is ideally suited to the elderly, babies or people in a lot of pain.
Carol qualified as a Bowen practitioner through The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia in 1995.
Carol provides this program treatment from her clinic in Ferntree Gully and surrounding suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
